Cornwall's Best Sea Fishing Charter

Fishing out of the most South West port in the UK, (Penzance, Cornwall), the Bite Adventures is a offshore 32. The vessel is very spacious with plenty of cabin space for comfort, and plenty of deck space for the business part of the trip. Powered by a cummins 240 giving the Bite boat a speed of 12 knots, with comfort being the key to a pleasurable trip.

Bite Adventures

The kind of fish you can expect out of Penzance depends on the time of year, the start of the wreck fishing begins in January, the fishing being hard work but the size of the fish being very impressive. The best of the wreck fishing being normally between March through to July, with the fish being plentiful, catching between the region of 30-50 stone on most trips. The majority of the fish caught are the hard fighting Pollack, Cod, Ling, and my personal favorite fighting fish being the Coalfish (Saith). Through July I tend to find that the fish tend to move onto the reefs, where the water becomes more shallow and the fight becomes more fierce.

Record Breaking Shark Fishing

Record 162lb shark on 12lb class tackle

Book a boat fishing trip with Bite Adventures and you could be breaking records. This lucky boat angler broke the CFSA 12Lb tackle class blue shark record in July 2010. This blue shark weighed in at a massive 162 Lb and is also the largest blue shark caught in UK south west waters since 1990. This 162 pound blue shark was taken on a 12 pound class ugly stick and 20 pound line on a shimanoo torium.

Bite Adventures have broken 3 Cornish records in 2010. The above blue shark being one of them. A 2.7.8 Megrim sole and a 4.11.0 brill also broke records. The 2010 season being the best yet for megrims boating 28 to date. Book with Bite Adventures and you too could be in the record books!

Great Boat Fishing All Year Round

As the year progresses more and more species start to appear with the sand banks producing exciting days - Plaice, Dabs, Megrim Soles, Turbot, Brill, Gurnards (Red, Grey, and the Tub Gurnard). Also the spiky but very pretty greater Weaver fish, this being a local delicacy with the British record being taken from Porthcournow regularly over the last 10 years.

"Chippy the skipper is certificated for 20 miles coastal. first aid, fire fighting, sea survival, radio operator and safety awareness."

Moving onto the reefs and rough grounds the fishing is frantic with every kind of colorful fish being caught, from the pouting through to the fantastic colors of the Cuckoo Wrasse. With our best fish recently being a fine 2lb 5oz.

Light Tackle Angler's Welcome

Pollack Caught On LIght Tackle - A First For Young Luke! The light tackle anglers will love the great tussle with the RED BREAM, this fine fish has made a resurgence over the last couple of years regular trips producing all day fun. With the added bonus of the water being shallow the Breams are able to be Released when you have your supper in the bag.

The Bass is a favourite fish of most Anglers I tend to take Bass trips for small parties because the way of fishing can become dangerous with too many people on the boat .Having to cast Lures and Plugs up in to the tide with 2 sets of treble hooks in can be excellent fun . The run of fish we are lucky to attract to this fine coastline range between 2 and 12 pounds with my personal best being 8 .0.2. The best days are when the tide is running hard through the day in the months between May and September.

Haddock fishing has now become a big favourite with boat anglers this 2010 season. The fight pound for pound is up with the best of species, with light tackle the sport can be fast and furious. Chippy's haddock fishing hot spots are within an hour of the port big so numbers of fish are being landed on every trip.

shark and Conger fishing trips

Shark fishing is proving yourself against our biggest fish last year we had 48 Sharks in 8 trips, with the best trip having 11 Blue sharks with 4 over the magic 100 pound barrier, the best of which being 137 pound. The best Shark for the season was a Blue Shark of 139 pounds which would be the new Cornish Record but because we run a Strict Catch and Release program the fish was weighed by Measuring tape and Released as were all 48 Sharks. The best Porbeagle Sharks come later in the season August and September. these are not so prolific our best being 220 pounds.

Cornish Conger Boat Fishing

A Typical Cornish Conger EelOn the smaller tides we are able to Anchor the Wrecks for the Conger and Lings these are a great fish to target as the better Lings run these waters up to 30 pounds and the congers run to 80 pounds with the dream Conger Eel just waiting to be taken, it has been a life long dream of mine to be the First Charter Skipper out of Penzance to catch that 100 pound plus Eel. I have a lot of faith that my dream will happen soon. Hopefully it will be the first of many
