Sea Fishing Boat Trips on the Bite
8 Hour Boat Fishing Trips
The 8 hour fishing trips start at 09.00 unless changed on booking, and we get back to the shore at 17.00 hours.
These trips can be for Wrecking to catch Pollack, Cod ,Ling ,and Coalfish. We use light 20 / 30 pound rods and 20 pound line on the Reels, with artificial lures on French booms, winding up from the bottom 40 turns to tempt the fish to take a bite.
Another 8 hr trip could be for Shark fishing, where as we leave the same time unless arranged prior to the trip. These trips we steam between 8 and 15 miles
and stop the engine leaving the boat to drift with the tide and wind pushing us across the bay. The tackle is made up of 50 pound class rods with Penn 6/0 reels filled with 50 pound line , the terminal tackle is made up of the line free running through 3 net floats to a large swivel , from the swivel we crimp 12 feet of wire to a 14 0 hook, this part of the tackle will dissolve in the water after a time so that its not in the fish forever if its lost in the fight. Every Shark caught has a picture taken and is released as soon as possible.
The Conger fishing is where we anchor the boat above the wreck, and fish whole mackerel baits on 30 to 50lb class gear to catch Conger and Ling, with the added chance of catching Red Bream, Cuckoo Wrasse, and Pouting, on the smaller baits. This fishing can be non stop with the Ling running to around 30lb, and the congers up to 70lb, the chance of 'a dream' 100lb conger.
Another favorite on the 8hr trips is species fishing, on very, very, light tackle. We can fish the sand banks of Porthcurnow and catch Turbot, small eyed Ray, Blonde Rays, Brill, Plaice, Dabs, Megrim Sole, Red Gurnards, Grey Gurnards, Tub Gurnards, Greater weaver Fish, Mackerel, and Garfish. Then moving to the Reefs we catch a lot of Bass, the exciting Red Bream, Cuckoo Wrasse, Ballan Wrasse, Pouting, Dog fish, Bullhuss, comber, Lings, Congers, Scads and the John Dory. Pretty much every species of fish can be hooked of Lands End.
4 Hour Boat Fishing Trips
The 4 hour trip leave at different times through the day depending on the tide, {call for details} these trips are for the same types of fish as the 8 hours but the fishing is a lot closer to the shore as the trip is shorter . These trips are more suited to beginners, families, or people pushed for time.
2 Hour Boat Fishing Trips
The 2 hour trips are just for Mackerel , this trip is perfect for the Children to have some fun and get the chance to have a short ride on a boat that they will feel very safe on. These trips also leave on different times please call or Contact us for information.
